Early Life

Federer was born on 8th August 1981 in Basel, Switzerland. His father Robert Federer was of swiss origin while his mother Lynette Du Rand was of South African Origin. His parents worked for a pharmaceutical company where they met. As a child, he was interested in soccer and tennis.

Aged 11, he was already on the list of top 3 junior tennis players in Switzerland. Federer decided to drop other sports and concentrate fully on tennis. He was interested in tennis more than any other competition, Aged 14; he was already proficient in the game with superb skills. Federer participated in at least three tournaments a month. He set up 6 hours a week for his training.
